Southland Golf and Country Club in Stone Mountain isn’t just a great public golf course – it’s much more than that. You’ll notice from the moment that you step out onto the first tee at Southland that you’re in for a real treat.
The entire course is built in the shadow of the world famous Stone Mountain, offering picturesque views at many points throughout the course. Drastic changes in undulation come into play thanks to the mountain’s surrounding landscape, and water, as well as large sand bunkers and areas of tall trees, often stand between your tee shot and the green.
Speaking of greens: the mountain view isn’t just a feature to please your eyes, it’s also a great benchmark for reading putts on the stunning Champions Bermuda greens featured at Southland. Though they run extremely quick and true, the greens at Southland almost always break away from the mountain, so if you’re unsure when reading a putt, be sure to err away from the peak.
Along with the amazing golf course, you can expect to encounter one of metro-Atlanta’s best practice facilities during your visit to Southland. Equipped with a 240-yard driving range and putting green, the practice facility features everything you need to get game-ready. Add to that a fully stocked pro shop as well as gorgeous event area, and you’ve got all of the amenities you need to complete your day of fun.
Before signing your card to end your round, be sure to take special care when approaching the 18th hole – the course’s signature challenge. Playing 512 yards from the back set of tees and completely bordered by lake water on one side, this absolutely breathtaking challenge is the perfect way to end your day – providing you with one final risk vs. reward challenge on which to bet your round.

The Golf Practice Facility at the Southland Golf and Country Club is a great place to improve your golf game! This fantastic facility features two tiers of grass tee boxes, an expansive practice green, two practice bunkers, and two separate driving ranges with targets. The facility also offers a chipping green and short game area, perfect for honing your short game skills. The entire facility has been designed to provide golfers with the best possible training environment. We also offer golf lessons to help you take your game to the next level. So whether you’re looking to get some practice in or take a lesson, the Golf Practice Facility at Southland Golf and Country Club is the perfect place to perfect your game.
